Have a Cool Birthday

Yes, it's the first day of fall and yes,  I'm sharing a super summery design.  This one was inspired by the celebration theme of the first Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge.

Have a Cool Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Concord & 9th
The popsicles are from Concord and 9th's Sweet and Cool stamp set.  They are made from watercolored paper coated with some clear glitter from a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.  The glittery coating looks kind of ice crystal-like IRL!

I arranged the popsicle pair on a white panel, using foam tape to adhere the top one.  The set's "have a cool birthday" sentiment was stamped next to the popsicles in black ink.  I added a bunch of different sized clear sequins around the popsicles. The finished panel was adhered to a pale yellow card base that coordinates nicely with all of the colors in the popsicles.

Materials Used:
Sweet and Cool stamp set, Sweet and Cool dies (Concord and 9th); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Lemon Chiffon cardstock (My Favorite Things); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); watercolors (Michaels); sparkling clear sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); foam tape

  1. Lori, this is fantastic! I love these colorful popsicles and the addition of the "icy" glitter is brilliant. Thanks so much for joining us for our Where Creativity Meets C9 Celebration Challenge.
