Out of This World

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the layout to create a quick birthday card using stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn.

Out of This World card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn FawnI turned the layout's large rounded panel into a moon with a piece of yellow textured cardstock.  To get the look of a nighttime sky, I adhered the rounded panel to a red cardstock panel with a dark blue star patterned paper panel along the left side.  I stamped the rocket image from the Out of this World set on white cardstock, then colored it with Copic markers and cut it out with the matching die.  It's adhered to the panel using foam tape.  I stamped the set's "hope your birthday is out of this world" sentiment on the yellow panel in black ink, just above the rocket.  A few silver sequins were arranged around the sentiment as an accent.  The finished panel was adhered to a blue card base.

Materials Used:
Out of This World stamp set, Beachside 6x6 paper pad, Out of This World dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Real Red, Not Quite Navy, and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle die (Spellbinders); silver sequins; foam tape
