Handwritten Happy Birthday

Here's my card for the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I thought this layout would be perfect for using up some coordinating patterned paper scraps--and it was!

Happy Birthday to You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Avery Elle
I used two different paper scraps from a birthday paper collection.  After placing the scraps at an angle along the bottom of a golden yellow card base and trimming them down so they were flush with the edges of the cardfront, I added super narrow yellow strips between each pattern block to visually separate them. I also added a narrow strip of silver cardstock along the top of the slanted edge to separate the patterns from the sentiment.  For the sentiment, I stamped the "happy birthday to you" sentiment from Avery Elle's Handwritten Notes set just above the top edge of the patterned paper blocks. Quick, clean, and easy to mail!

Materials Used:
Handwritten Notes stamp set (Avery Elle); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections silver cardstock (Michaels); It's a Celebration 6x6 paper pad (Carta Bella)
